Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival 2016 features 59 different flavours
The 6th annual Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival returns this weekend (January 16 to February 14) with 25 participating cafés, restaurants, and dessert shops that will serve 59 different flavours of hot chocolate.
New to this year’s festival are Earnest Ice Cream (Quebec Street location), Railtown Café, and Temper Chocolates and Pastry.
The festival has even created a Calendar of Flavours that shows chocoholics what drinks are available on each day of the annual event.
Some of the anticipated hot-chocolate flavours that we can’t wait to try out include #8 “Black Magic” at Bella Gelateria Coal Harbour (1001 West Cordova Street). It's a combination of organic black sesame seed paste mixed with Michel Cluizel’s Vanuari Dark 63% Vanuari chocolate, served with house-made Italian black sesame biscotti sprinkled with organic matcha powder.
Another one to add to your list is #23 “Ambrosio Affogato” at Earnest Ice cream (1829 Quebec Street). This drink is a molten dark drinking chocolate poured over Tahitian vanilla ice cream, served with a house-made salted chocolate rye cookie. Are you drooling yet?
