Bold new experimental work from Dusseldorf, a coloured-light-bathed piece from Japan, and choreography inspired by the Badlands are just some of the highlights of the Dance Centre's just-announced 2012-13 season.

Kicking off September 21 is Dusseldorf's fabien prioville dance company. La La La Human Steps veteran Prioville's duet Experiment on Chatting Bodies explores new technology by using Facebook and Skype to invite people to share their music, movement, opinions, even views of their homes.

The next night, the same German city's Morgan Nardi Choreography presents A One M(org)an Show, a subversive spin on the one-man show that uses dance, spoken text, song, and comedy to confuse the audience about who the performer really is.

Elsewhere on the roster, Restless Productions' Claire French presents The Moment of Forgetting (October 4 to 6), a five-dancer piece that features a set by ultracool design outfit Hadley + Maxwell.

December 6 to 8, dynamo Shay Kuebler gets the chance to present a new, full-length version of his killer Karoshi, a pummelling interpretation of Japan's death by overwork.

In the new year, the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival copresents the return of Belgian innovator Jerome Bel, with his ) Cédric Andrieux (January 18 to 20); Tokyo's Hiroaki Umeda with Haptic + Holistic, which finds the artist drenched in hues of purple, blue, and red light (January 25 to 27); and Ghent's Pieter Ampe and Guilherme Garrido with Still Standing You, a rough fusion of dance, wrestling, and gymnastics (January 29 and 30).

Fegbruary 14 to 16, 2012, Body-Scan 2 Montreal’s Benoît Lachambre and battery opera’s Su-Feh Lee hook up for Body Scan 2, which integrates photos by Robert Flynt and live music by Jesse Zubot.

And Joe Ink's Joe Laughlin presents a retrospective of his 25 years in dance, revisiting some of his favourite, quirky dance pieces from March 6 to 9, 2012.

Marta Marta Production's choreographer Martha Carter interprets the music of Hungarian composer György Ligeti in The Ligeti Project from April 18 to 20, 2012.

And Toronto and Montreal's Chartier Danse wraps up the season from April 25 to 27, 2012, with Stria, performer-choreographer Marie-Josée Chartier's solo ode to the Badlands, complete with text, music, and movement.
