Whether you’re ready to drop into a killer breakdancing combo or you’re more of a casual head-bobber, The Dance Centre is presenting a series of events on April 29 in conjunction with International Dance Day that are sure to entertain.

Introduced over 40 years ago, International Dance Day celebrates all types of dance alongside the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, a French ballet dancer from the 19th century regarded as the founder of modern ballet.

Free events will be hosted at Vancouver Art Gallery South Plaza by some of Vancouver’s most talented movers and shakers. At three different workshops, which are open to all levels and ages, you can learn dynamic moves, footwork, and how to work the catwalk.

More of an observer than a participant? The Dance Centre has you covered with the performance of Soft Currents at the Scotiabank Dance Centre, boasting 15 dance artists and inspired by murmurations with collaborative and spontaneous movement.
