      Viva la pizza!

Don’t Argue, a beloved Vancouver counter-service pizzeria, is set to make its return on March 1 with the grand opening of the Don’t Argue slice shop inside Commercial Drive’s Caffe Soccavo.

In case you’ve been sleeping on Vancouver’s culinary scene, Don’t Argue kicked off in 2014 as an offshoot of Victoria Drive’s renowned Neapolitan pizzeria, Via Tevere, but its New York-style slices quickly became a local favourite on their own. The Riley Park spot closed after five years in 2019.

Now, under the leadership of brothers Dom and Frank Morra—who own Caffe Soccavo, Via Tevere Pizzeria, and the Saltimbocca food truck—the redux of Don’t Argue promises to bring back what Vancouverites loved so much about the New York-style slices.

Starting March 1, you’ll be able to grab a slice (or a whole pie) of Don’t Argue pizza inside Caffe Soccavo’s 40-seat space, along with other Italian caffe classics like salads, antipasto, paninis, soft serve, and espresso.

“We’re excited and honoured to relaunch one of Vancouver’s most iconic pizza brands in a new format within our Little Italy caffe,” says co-owner Dom Morra in a release. “When we first opened Caffe Soccavo in the former Abruzzo Cappuccino Bar, our goal was to breathe new life into the space while paying homage to a neighbourhood institution.  We have an opportunity to do that once again now as we bring back Don’t Argue Pizza’s legendary slices in a new home.”

By next weekend, you’ll be able to revel in nostalgia for Don’t Argue’s fare with a classic slice of margherita, pancetta pineapple, pesto ricotta, or the potato mash—whether it’s dine-in, pick-up, or delivery.
