Vancouver Auto Show returning after four-year hiatus

Start your engines—the Vancouver International Auto Show is making its return to our city after a four-year break (thanks, Covid). The organizers are calling the show a “reimagined experience” that’ll put emphasis on the consumers themselves—so if you’re in the market for a new car, or like to cosplay as someone who can afford a brand-new vehicle in these economic times, you’ll want to head to the Vancouver Convention Centre in late March.

Taking place from March 20 to 24, the show is called the ELEVATE Automotive Experience, and will show off more than 200 new cars across the 200,000 square-foot venue. Included will be interactive exhibits such as the EV and PHEV Test Drive Experience—in which attendees can take the latest clean energy vehicles for a spin—the Supercar Eleganza, and Horsepower Heaven, which reimagines classic cars equipped with modern technology.

While our city has seen a rise in Tesla drivers over the past few years, there’ll be something for drivers of all stripes at the show, as manufacturers GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, Ford, Lincoln, Toyota, Lexus, Hyundai, Nissan, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, VinFast, Polestar, Tesla, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bentley, Aston Martin, McLaren, Ferrari, and Maserati all promise to make an appearance. There will be luxury and exotic cars on display, but if giant trucks are more your thing, you might want to reserve tickets to Monster Jam instead.

There will also be a special two-day activation called the Women’s Auto Show (March 23 and 24), geared towards making the traditionally male-focused auto show more woman-friendly. Expect sessions on car buying, electric vehicle charging, motorbike pre-inspections, and more.

Beyond the exhibits, the ELEVATE Automotive Experience will have attendees considering what’s next for the future—which seems to be zero-emission vehicles, fully electric cars, hybrids, and more. The only thing we’re short of is that ever-elusive flying car.
