The Cup returns to Hastings Racecourse with food, DJs, cocktails, and over-the-top fashion

Dust off your fascinators and betting strategies, because The Cup is back.

Set to take place at the 132-year-old Hastings Racecourse, The Cup—formerly known as the Deighton Cup—reignites the tradition of betting on thoroughbred horse races amid the luxury of fine foods, drinks, and ostentatious displays of fashion.

"We consistently work to make the event better and more fun each year,” says Tyson Villeneuve, co-founder of The Cup, in a release. “The food will be the best yet. With the music lineup, no matter where you are in the event, The Cup will have a great summer vibe.”

Indeed, The Cup is upping the ante at this year’s event, bringing in DJ Brandi Cyrus and Juno-nominated electronic duo Youngbombs for entertainment; a “cocktail jockey” competition in a ‘70s-style speakeasy lounge; and a Michelin-starred trackside foodie experience with Kissa Tanto.

Known to be a showcase for over-the-top fashion—like big hats with feathers, lace, or bows—this year the event debuts a Fashion Marketplace with more than 25 brands hawking their wares in a “shop and sip” zone, plus a beauty bar and Style Stakes portrait studio.
