Passengers face long lineups at Vancouver International Airport
It's due to a shortage of security screeners, according to the airport authority
This is not the best of days for air travellers hoping to leave Vancouver.
That's because the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority's contracted security-screening provider has a shortage of staff.
According to the Vancouver International Airport Authority Twitter feed, this means that passengers are "seeing longer than normal lines at screening points".
"We are mobilizing our Guest Experience team to help keep people moving," YVR added.

Sunday is the busiest travel day at YVR in the summer.
Meanwhile, Toronto Star journalist Joanna Chiu has tweeted that she just made it onto her flight after taking three hours to go through security at YVR.

Former CTV journalist, Alan Fryer, also tweeted about the hours-long wait to get through security at #YVR. He attributed it to job action by the screeners.
