BC’s Knowledge Network has released a new trailer for the upcoming second season of Search and Rescue: North Shore, which premieres on May 28.

The first season gave viewers an inside look at the North Shore Rescue (NSR) team as they responded to real distress calls from Vancouverites and tourists exploring the great outdoors and iconic mountainsides. The NSR is the biggest search and rescue organization in Canada.

The upcoming season sees the return of the NSR team, including lead Mike Danks, as they explore further into Squamish to showcase the need for highly-trained volunteers who can keep a level head and assess situations as they arise.

“This kind of on-the-fly storytelling in life and death situations requires extraordinary skill and agility, and access is based on a deep relationship of trust and respect for all involved,” shares Michelle van Beusekom, CEO of Knowledge Network, in a statement. “As a newcomer to BC, I was surprised to learn that the members of these incredibly skilled teams are all volunteers!”

Airing on Knowledge Network on Tuesdays from May 28 to June 25, the season will be available to stream for free across Canada.
