The local sister duo best known for their sweet brand of indie pop, Tegan and Sara, are in the midst of releasing their second graphic novel.

The Quin twins have certainly been busy in the last few years. Since 2022, they’ve put out a TV series based on their memoir (both called High School), written their first graphic novel (called Junior High), released their tenth studio album (called Crybaby), and started a newsletter (called I Think We’re Alone Now). They are currently prepping for their upcoming Not Tonight tour, which kicks off in March (and, sadly, only has Ontario dates as of right now).

That’s all to the say that the duo has no shortage of creativity.

Their new autobiographical graphic novel Crush is a sequel to Junior High, and follows Tegan and Sara as they begin to form their band in their early teens. All the trappings of the junior high experience—crushes, friend fallouts, and early creative pursuits—come to a head in this young-adult book.

The graphic novel is currently available to pre-order, and hits shelves on October 1.
