The Dead South to hit Vancouver on Canadian tour

The irony of alt Americana band The Dead South is that this four-piece band actually hails from the mid-North East—Regina, Saskatchewan, to be exact. While they may look like they’ve stepped right off the set of a 1930s spaghetti western, the band maintains that they’re progressive, fully realized in the present—even with their flawlessly executed banjo rolls, lightning-fast mandolin tremolos, and three-part harmonies.

Now, the quartet—made up of Nathaniel Hilts, Scott Pringle, Colton “Crawdaddy” Crawford, and Danny Kenyon—has announced a Canadian tour in support of their fourth studio album, Chains & Stakes, with Vancouver as a stop on the multi-city romp.

Other tour stops include Winnipeg, Edmonton, Kelowna, and Toronto. In Vancouver, the band will be playing the cavernous Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre on November 3.

Fans of bluegrass and Fan Expo alike might find camaraderie at the show, as the band’s followers are known to cosplay their signature look—plucked right off the set of O Brother, Where Art Thou?.
