He’s been to Hollywood, Redwood, and even crossed the ocean for a heart of gold, but he won’t be coming to Burnaby this July.

Yesterday, it was announced that Neil Young and his band Crazy Horse had cancelled the remainder of the Love Earth Tour after several members fell ill following a show in Detroit.

Eager fans were understandably excited to see the rock legend perform two shows at Burnaby’s Deer Lake Park next month. Seven Canadian shows and three American shows have been cancelled, including appearances at Ohana Fest and the Bourbon and Beyond Festival.

“We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break. We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again!” the band shares on its website. “We know many of you made travel plans and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for your understanding and patience.”

For those who have purchased tickets via Ticketmaster, a refund is expected to be issued within the next three weeks.
