Taking an elevated spin on the timeless duo of dinner and a movie is the Hollywood Theatre in Kitsilano, which is hosting a screening of When Harry Met Sally along with dinner from Nuba on November 28.

Premiered in 1989, When Harry Met Sally is classic rom com featuring queen of the genre Meg Ryan (alongside fellow ‘90s treasure Billy Crystal, who delivered, among others, these memorable lines: “When I get a new book, I read the last page first. That way, if I die before I finish, I know how it comes out. That, my friend, is a dark side.”)

Seeing iconic older films on the big screen is always a treat, but perhaps even more so when it’s paired with food other than popcorn.

Doors are at 6pm with the movie starting at 7. Here are the ticket options, which can be purchased online

      • Grilled Mezze Sampler (wild tiger prawns, lamb kafta skewers, shish tawook, Najib’s special, batata harra potatoes, hummus) plus movie tickets for two: $95
      • Veggie Mezze Sampler (falafel, mjadra, Najib’s special, batata harra potatoes, za’atar tomato, pickled cabbage, hummus) plus movie tickets for two: $75
      • Just the movie tickets for two: $15
      • Just the movie ticket for one: $10

If you’re lucky enough to attend with someone you love, just make sure to turn to them as the lights go down and tell them, as Harry did to Sally: “I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”
