You no longer have to cross the border to Blaine, road trip to Los Angeles, or fly to New Orleans to get your hands on a can of Betty Buzz. The all-natural line of non-alcoholic mixers, developed and launched by Hollywood powerhouse Blake Livey, is now coming to Canada.

Four flavours will be available across the country: Meyer Lemon Club Soda, Sparkling Grapefruit, Sparkling Lemon Lime, and Ginger Beer. You’ll be able to find them in British Columbia at your local Safeway.

After working on the development of Betty Buzz for three years, Lively entered the soft-drink market in America in 2021. All flavours in the line are made with real juice and other natural ingredients, with no artificial additives, colors, or sweeteners. Additional selling points include that they are gluten-free, kosher, and non-GMO. And, of course, that they are the brainchild of one-half of Hollywood’s most impossibly photogenic power couples.

Explaining her passion for Betty Buzz during its initial rollout, Lively said: “I don’t drink. I know that’s odd coming from the wife of an infamous gin slinger. Over the past many years of mixing but not drinking cocktails, it became clear mixers are the unsung heroes of the drink world and deserve just as much love as alcohol.”

The “gin slinger” she referred to is of course Mr. Blake Lively—aka Vancouver-born A-lister Ryan Reynolds, who’s a part owner in the boutique American spirit Aviation American Gin. Reynolds is married to Lively, with whom he shares four kids.

After becoming a sensation in the States, Betty Buzz expanded to the UK last year. Canada marks its second international market.

“If there’s one thing I know, it’s that Canadians do it best,” Lively said in a statement. “I couldn’t be more proud that my Betty Buzz baby has dual citizenship.”
