Get your twinkle on at the Capilano Canyon Lights

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: twinkle light time.

Today marks the first day of Capilano Suspension Bridge Park’s annual Canyon Lights, where the whole area is lit up with festive illuminations in rainbow shades, thus transforming the park into a magical glowing rainforest.

The displays run until January 21, with the light experience included in regular admission. Due to high demand, tickets should be bought in advance.

There are also a limited number of hourly admissions for people with annual passes, if you’re making the most of your BC residency with that year-long membership. (Or, if you’re a local buying a ticket to see the canyon lights, remember to pick up the annual pass option so that you can return for free within the year for any of the park’s other seasonal events.)

Partial admission proceeds go towards the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund, with over $450,000 raised to date. Some funds also go towards the Twelve Nights of Christmas program, offering free admission to local charities.

So you can feel extra smug about taking perfect Instagram pictures in front of a bunch of beautifully rigged lights: you’re helping a good cause, too.
