This summer at šxʷƛ̓exən Xwtl’a7shn Plaza (aka Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza), Vancouver Civic Theatres are hosting a series of free events. Throughout July and August, the plaza will be transformed to host open-air concerts, pop-up dance classes, and outdoor movie screenings every week.

New to the programming this year is a weekly open-air concert, called Summer Sounds, which features local talent every Thursday starting July 25. Highlights from the lineup include a spotlight on Land Back Records, a showcase for students from the Sarah McLachlan School of Music, and sets from DJ Nea and DJ Paisley Eva.

Every Friday starting July 19, attendees can sharpen their dance skills with a free lesson in various genres. And every Wednesday in August, there will be an outdoor movie screening; the lineup is expected to be announced soon.
