Caravan World Rhythms’ summer concert series returns in July

Founded in 2000, Caravan World Rhythms is on a mission to share global music with audiences in Vancouver. Central to that goal is the organization’s Summer Concert Series, which this year features two shows at the Fox Cabaret.

The series kicks off in partnership with Latincouver, offering a vibrant blend of Brazilian regional music from Tio Chorinho, accompanied by the soulful vocals of Flavia Nascimento. Adding to the eclectic mix is Vancouver’s AmarElas, a female-led ensemble, who will grace the stage with their diverse repertoire, spanning from samba to jazz.

The second concert showcases Afro-Moroccan electronic fusion from musical trio Zar Electrik, combined with Inuit throat-singing by Piqsiq for a unique collaboration of genres.

“Not only do we pride ourselves on presenting some of the world’s best global music and dance artists on Vancouver stages since the year 2000,” says Robert Benaroya, Caravan World Rhythm’s founder and artistic director, in a statement, “but we love bringing people together to celebrate the multicultural and intergenerational spirit of each other’s culture.”
