Normally, lovers of Festival du Bois would have to hoof, cycle, drive, or ride the transit system out to Mackin Park in Coquitlam.

But this year, the festival is taking place à la cabane, due to the pandemic.

It means anyone who's interested in traditional French-Canadian music simply has to fire up the computer at home and go to the festivaldubois.com.

All the videos are free and can be viewed at any time from now until April 30.

Tonight, I took in the impressive fiddling of Pierre Schryer along with melodic acoustic guitar work of Andy Hillhouse.

Schryer, a Franco-Ontarian Juno nominee, is a past North American Irish fiddle champion, whereas Hillhouse is a star on the Celtic music circuit.

The duo covered a wide range of folk and roots music at the festival while also sharing stories about how they're getting by in the pandemic.

You can check out their performance below.
