Create! Eastside Arts Festival expands to a week-long celebration for its fourth year

Bringing East Vancouver’s art and artists to the forefront, the 4th edition of Create! Eastside Arts Festival, presented by the Eastside Art Society, is expanding into a week-long celebration. This event will feature diverse activities, including interactive workshops, live performances, public art activations, and more.

“We are thrilled to see the evolution of the Create! Eastside Arts Festival into a true, district-wide event,” shares Esther Rausenberg, artistic and executive director of Eastside Art Society, in a release. “The significant growth of the Create! festival as we enter into our fourth year showcases the rich cultural network of venues, artists, and artist production spaces that make the EAD [Eastside Arts District] one of the most unique and vibrant cultural communities in Canada.”

This year’s edition will feature ticketed workshops and performances throughout the city for one week in July, including puppet-building workshops and living drawing clubs.

On the last day of festivities, guests can participate in outdoor art workshops—everything from crochet class to an introduction to flamenco—led by Eastside artists at Strathcona Park. There will also be an all-ages live music concert, a beer garden, food trucks, and an art market.
